Thai Raksa Chart leader Preechaphol Pongpanich shows a document nominating Princess Ubolratana as the party's PM candidate at the Office of the Election Commission in Bangkok on Friday. "The royal institution is a major pillar of the nation and it is supposed to be above politics," he said. The fact is, Princess Ubolratana is respected and treated as part of the royal institution, and use of the royal institution by any political parties is prohibited. Thai Raksa Chart is viewed as an offshoot of the main opposition Pheu Thai Party -- which is also linked to Thaksin Shinawatra. Many politicians migrated from Pheu Thai Party to Thai Raksa Chart.
